Overview
This retreat welcomes everyone ages 13+ who loves German wheel, from complete beginners to advanced artists. We will work individually and in small groups according to experience level. You will have the opportunity to do:
• Partner moves
• Big spiral
• Small spiral
• Moves in straps/bindings
• Moves out of straps/bindings (hip circles, high rolls, bridges, etc.)
• Moves you personally want to work on

The wheel retreat will take place at the Madison Circus Space in Madison, WI. MCS is a 10,000-square-foot building with 40-foot ceilings, a large main room of about 80’ x 100’, and sprung hardwood floors. We have 16 wheels ranging in size from 150 to 245.
instructors
Your lead instructor will be Carly Schuna of Head over Wheels. Carly is a five-time wheel gymnastics national champion and a Level II certified coach with the International Wheel Gymnastics Federation. She has been coaching both recreational and competitive wheelers for more than 12 years. Carly’s priorities are for everyone at the retreat to have an amazing time, make new friends, feel safe, progress in their skills, and try fun new things.
Assistant instructor will be Amanda Gatewood of Head Over Wheels. Amanda has been coaching with HOW since 2020. She competed in wheel gymnastics from 2018-2021, and has been performing German wheel at events since 2017.

cost + registration
The cost for the weekend is $425. Early-bird registration is available for $400 if you register and pay by March 1st, 2026.
A $200 deposit is due upon registration, and the balance is due by April 1st. If you register on or after April 1st, the full payment is due upon registration. All payments are fully refundable if you cancel by March 10th. If you cancel by April 1st, half ($200) will be refunded. After that, your payments are nonrefundable. Scholarships of up to $165 are available here.
